Auditions Are Happening!
We are excited to announce auditions for our upcoming production of Bare Bear Bones, written by Michael Grant and directed by Martin Buote. This comedy is sure to provide plenty of laughs and insightful moments, and we look forward to seeing many of you audition!

- Monday, January 13th at 7:00pm
- Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00pm
Location: Huronia Players Rehearsal Hall, Midland Cultural Centre (333 King Street, Midland, ON)
Performance Dates: April 25, 26, 27, May 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10
Synopsis:
Norm and Ruth, an empty-nester couple, embark on a trip to the Bear Bones Family Campground, hoping to rekindle the spark in their marriage. However, when they arrive, they discover the campground has transformed into the Bare Bones Alternative Lifestyle Campground, where no one is wearing any clothes! As they navigate this unexpected situation, the couple learns to communicate better and rediscover what truly matters in their relationship. With help from the eccentric guests and staff, Norm and Ruth may just find their way back to the happy place they once knew.
Character Breakdown:
- Norman: A quick-witted but conservative man in his fifties. Married to Ruth, he is reluctantly attending marriage counseling to reignite the spark in his relationship.
- Ruth: A religious and conservative woman in her fifties, Ruth raised two children as a stay-at-home mom. She feels her marriage lacks excitement and is desperate to rekindle their love.
- Frank: A widower in his fifties who has embraced a more liberal lifestyle after losing his wife. He created the Bare Bones Alternative Lifestyle Campground and is the father of Libby and Annie.
- Annie: In her twenties, Annie is aspiring to be an actor and helps her father at the campground. Energetic and fun-loving.
- Libby: In her late twenties or early thirties, Libby studies medicine and is more conservative than her younger sister Annie. She helps her father around the campground.
- Lenny: In his twenties or thirties, Lenny is the ultimate “party dude,” but he may have a more professional side, working at a talent agency.
- Bruce: A middle-aged regional manager who spends much of his time on the road. He is happily married to Doris and enjoys telling his traveling salesman stories.
- Doris: Middle-aged and married to Bruce. She and her husband have two grown children and take part in adventures outside their comfort zone.
Important Notes:
- This production involves perceived nudity, and all auditioning members should be aware of this aspect.
- Rehearsals will take place three times per week, with dates to be determined once the cast is finalized, based on cast and crew availability.
