Huronia Players is a community theatre group based in Midland, Ontario. We provide education and workshops for theatre arts and produce three major productions each year at the intimate 121 seat theatre in the Midland Cultural Centre at the corner of King and Elizabeth Streets.

Community theatre is a wonderful hobby and has room for a diverse crowd of individuals with skills ranging from acting to carpentry. To join our group you do not need any theatre skills to begin with: you will learn as you go. For each play, rehearsals and technical production (set, costumes, props, lighting and sound) take 3 months. Running crew and actors have an additional 10 performances over 3 weeks.

A production totals many hours of labour from a host of individuals. The reward is fun, exhilaration, panic, madness, joy, and a huge thrill when the audience applauds.

Play Reading Committee

Reports to: Artistic Direction and Member Events Director

Chair: Monica Kee

Description: The Play Reading  Committee (PRC) is a subcommittee of the Artistic Department and is composed of 6 or 7 HP members. The committee is dedicated to reading and reviewing plays submitted by any member. Reviewed plays are catalogued and kept in the HP office library and can be taken out and enjoyed by any member. It is the responsibility and pleasure of this group to select 3 shows for every HP season.
