The Cemetery ClubWritten by Ivan Menchell – directed by Doris Sloan This is a poignant play about relationships and going on after adversity. This drama concerns three friends who are widows. All live in the same Jewish community and are in their mid-to-late 50’s. Once a month they gather to visit their husbands’ graves and meet afterwards to talk about their lives. Doris remains fiercely devoted to her late husband and takes her widowhood very seriously. Lucille is eager to get her feet back into the waters of dating as she is lonely by herself. Ida is also not used to being alone after 39 years but is not yet ready to start dating again. Into this mix comes Sam who gradually but firmly eases his way into their lives. Out of this comes jealousy, comedy, and questions we all might have after a time when a love one has passed away. 10 Performances: February 21 to March 8, 2014 All Performances at the Huronia Players Theatre in the Midland Cultural Centre Production Sponsor
